Our Members

Members of GK are a diverse group of Asian women of varying ages and occupations. They come together for a common purpose — to express their creativity, power and strength through performing the lion and dragon dances, build community and break through stereotypes while upholding the old Chinese saying, “A heroine will not admit defeat to the hero.” To become a member, join our trial class. "I had a desire to connect to the Boston Asian community. Gund Kwok gives me an opportunity to do that with a great group of women while challenging myself mentally and physically. I am proud to share this art form with my family and friends."

"I love being in a group of Asian women where there are so many incredible personalities; but one purpose. We strive to perform our best but have a lot of fun while doing it. There's nothing else like it!"

It's a special and wonderful thing to be able to explore both an exciting dance form and my place in the world as an Asian woman. I joined Gund Kwok to find a new challenge; not only did I find that, but I discovered an incredible community of women full of support and spirit!
